The Arca-Swiss B1g can support up to 200lbs/90kg and so can safely be used with all formats, even if using vertically. It is the perfect partner to a tripod such as a Gitzo series 3 in terms of size and balance and can easily cope with a 10x8 camera. It is about 50% larger and stronger than the more common B1 and weighs 1600g.

The B1g uses a large aspheric ball for progressive tensioning as you tilt. This prevents the feeling that the weight is becoming less controllable as the angle increases. Thumb dial for tension adjustment is on the friction knob.

The head is in good used condition with lots of small cosmetic signs of normal use as shown in the pictures (such as on the knob) but it is fully functioning and has a nice smooth action and tight locking mechanism.
