Peak might not send boxes back as it puts them into the parcel service (don't go through the Post Office "slot") with the additional costs.
You could always try sending them in a black film bag with the folded cardboard in for strength and then all in a Jiffy bag and asking for the bits back or just ask for any spare bags they have. I used to send roll film in and ask for a few extra flatpack cartons for future orders - a few often came back...

Peak will usually return the boxes if you mark them "Please return boxes", at least, they always have for me.
If you don't, they won't return them.
