Is Foto-Arte still trading?

Post by David Evans » Sat Oct 03, 2009 9:38 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I came across a website for www.foto-arte.co.uk and wondered if the site is live and still trading.
Has anyone dealt with them recently or ever?
I tried phoning the number and it rings out but no reply, and their lens prices seem a bit old (or very good even taking account that VAT needs to be added).
Thanks.
David

There seems to be a bit of doubt about this, but I saw somewhere that they might be trading on eBay under the name at the link.

Thanks for the information Peter - the eBay shop seems to be selling the same things as Foto-Arte so that's what I wanted.

I dealt with him a year or so ago, bought a Fujinon 240mm from him, it wasn't the most pleasant of experiences although it did arrive in the end and was a reasonable deal. From what I remember he tends to call back if you call the number provided.

They were certianly still going when I emailed needing some info on a Shen Hao model back in march of this year. I think the actual name of the trading company (rather than ther website) is HDH Photo Europe.

I drive past the "shop" most days but it never seems to be open

I guess that emailing or phoning would provide the real answer

I bought a secondhand Nikkor 180mm earlier this year and got very good customer service: it was delivered by hand, as the owner was passing my way! From the look of their website they appear to still be trading. If in doublt, try making contact.
