Query re JOBO AutoLab 1500

Hi All,
Does anyone know whether the ATL 1500 can be used to process 10x8 film? I think several members have one of these, including Joanna. According to the JOBO pdf file that I have it's restricted to 5x4, but maybe there's a way round this?
Actually, I don't have a 10x8 camera at present, but I'm thinking about it resources permitting .

If you have ever seen a jobo tank that can hold a 8 X 10 and seen a atl1500 you will know that the first will never fit in the second.

I have an ATL1500 and the instructions state that you can use a 4219 drum to develop 10x8 paper. The only proviso is that you might have to devise some way to gently support the back of the film away from the walls of the tank.

I have just checked and found that my 2553 film tank is big enough for 10x8 film, but you would have to devise some means (possibly a home-made reel) of supporting the film, as that tank hasn't even got grooves to support the edges.

Thanks for the replies and apologies for the delay - been away for a few days and just catching up.

Gary - I haven't seen a Jobo drum for 10x8, but I've got a Jobo Expert 5x4 drum and I know that wouldn't fit in the ATL1500 . I just wondered if there were any other drum options that might fit.

Joanna - great investigative job as usual . Seems like I might go for an ATL1500 and face any 10x8 processing difficulties later as they don't seem insurmountable. At present I have only a 2509n tank, but that would do for my 5x4.

The 2509n is a reel, not a tank. The 2513 tank will hold one reel, the 2553 will hold two.

If you get a even develment of a 8 x 10 flim in a jobo 2553 please let us know how you did it. I tried hard to get it done but never had succes.

Thanks Joanna. Oops, my confusion, it's the 2513 tank and 2509n reel I have - if I'd actually got around to using them, I'd probably remember which is which .

Thanks Gary for the warning re development in a 2553 - thought it couldn't be that simple . How do you process 10x8?

8 x 10, I have tried tray. For more than one sheet I am to clumsy. For some time I have rolled a large paper drum over one strait rail and one corrugated rail. That way the drum makes a waddling movement. That resulted in a even development. Color was still a problem that way. So now it's a ATL2200 and a 3005 drum. Color film is just to expensive to gamble with.
