Well spent all day Saturday in the darkroom fafing about with film speed testing, followed instructions to the letter, found virtualy no differance in the test prints, thought, and we all know what thought did, made a mistake do it again. Did it again, same results. Then it dawned on me it might be an idea to look at my meter readings, the incramental increase between the speed diferance was .03 of a stop. No wonder I could not see any diferance. 12 sheets of film and half a box of paper for nawt.
Last going off abandoned film speed testing and set up a quick table top, 2 exposures, dev one as normal the other +25% made test prints of both. As expected I have lots to learn about depth of field and focus plane, BUT the toneality of those negs, absolutly gorgous and a sheer bloody joy to print. Am I hooked or am I hooked, now if only we have a bit of decent light I can go out and play.
Sorry for the babble but felt I had to share with others who appresiate the feeling.
All the best Paul.
