The weather... What can one say? While the entire country basked in glorious sunshine, the Yorkshire coast enjoyed thick cloud. From the Tees down to Filey and inland for twenty miles, that was the extent of the cloud for the whole of Great Britain on this otherwise peerless weekend. So why would we want to come here? Well, the coast harbours many seaside treasures: pretty fishing villages at Staithes and Runswick, picturesque cliffs at Saltwick, Ravenscar, Filey and Flamborough. Inland the North York moors shelter more pretty villages, an old railway, natural beauty and one site of national importance: Rievaulx Abbey. All in all, a great deal to do.

The Friday and Saturday evening get-togethers in Scarborough were the time to relax, talk LF over drinks, see other people's work and generally speak to normal people. Another productive meeting then.
