THE UNITED KINGDOM LARGE FORMAT PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP

The Rationale: The image of Castle Stalker was taken on a trip with a local photographer. I was being given a guided tour of the area and we got to the vantage point at the end of the day. I was keen to see the spot that JC and others had shot from, though I was not expecting to get an image as the light was quite flat and looked like it was not going to improve. Also, I was originally reluctant to shoot really well known spots, a bit of a problematic stance living in this area, in hindsight.

After an hour or so of looking for a foreground we were walking back toward the car when the light seemed to be turning for the better, we set up in a very short time and I managed to get 2 sheets before the light went, unfortunately one of the sheets was scratched somewhere along the line!! I like the view down the Firth of Lorne towards "home", I live at the end of Dun da Goithe which can be seen on the horizon, to the right. - Gari
