THE UNITED KINGDOM LARGE FORMAT PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP

Llangiwg Church, Pontardawe.

Built on the site of a sixth century chapel, the church tower dates back to Norman times. It's a significant landmark of the area, but one that has gradually fallen into disuse over the past 100 years. It ceased functioning as a church several years ago and was recently sold to a private buyer. It is surrounded by fields and access is by two narrow lanes, though for one lucky photographer it is just 30 minutes walk from the front door. Please note - it is not the photographer who is tilted.

Technical details: Speed Graphic 4x5 with a 128mm Wollensak Raptar. TMax 100, dev'd in Ilford DDX.
