Wanted: Process my E6 Quickload

I have about 30 sheets of exposed velvia 50 quickload, its the last of my 5x4 quickload batch & there's nothing particularly pressing on there in terms of images, it just needs processing. I think 2 or 3 sheets need a 1stop push (but you don't have to process these if you don't want to).

Would someone like to contact/quote me for processing these. I would send them to a lab, but I'm fed up with the perf holes in the edges of the frame.

I don't know whether you sorted this out Ian, but have just noticed that Genie Imaging are doing 4x5 E6 processing at £1.99, which seems a decent price.

Just wanted to thank Ian, for scanning some images for me, part of a barter agreement against his E6 processing request. I let the image show how good the scans were. The V750 is my personal scanner and I used a betterscanning holder set to 3mm.

That's a good looking scan from the imacon but the epson's not too shabby either. Out of interest, what is the full size resolution of the scan you get from the v750?

These are the 200% crops that Bogdan sent me via email - at full size. I think it needs to be 200% to fully illustrate the obvious difference on the web. Before anyone makes some silly comment about shadow detail - The Imacon is darker on purpose, as I was matching Bogdan's original transparency. In other words the V750 is just scanned lighter.

If only LF photography became a sufficiently mass market for the Imacon scanners to come down significantly in price, so becoming within the reach of hobbyists..... Looks like I'll need to get very lucky with my Premium Bonds!

Hey 'Thingy', I don't think Hasselblad will ever reduce the price of these things down the level of hobbyists! What they don't also tell you is that its £350 to get serviced (the price of an Epson) once a year or every 10,000 scans!

Of course you could go the whole hog and compare the quality of a drum scan against an Epson wet mounted with a bettermount.



And the drum scanner can be had for less than £1000

Obviously it takes longer to mount a photo for drum scanning

You dont actually get it serviced every year do you Scovell??
Mate of mine has a 848 and its never been serviced, but is going as strong as the day the we set it up, that was about 9 years ago!
Not had an easy life either, more often than not been doing about 200 midres scans a day, 5 days a week.
They are rather well made scanners..

Tim, your picture posts don't appear to have loaded properly to the forum, so we can't see em.

Craig, yeah I did have it serviced annually initially. I now have it serviced every 15,000 scans on the recommendation of Hasselblad. They also showed me the engineer service menu, so I can keep an eye on my lamp quality (the weak link in the chain!) so I can re calibrate periodically as it deteriorates.
