oh i know, it was pretty much a neccesity as its all i could afford right now. but yes all the things you said make sense.

the brush thing is a must with darkslides, and i added to the compressed air by using a hairdryer, great tool:)

I wouldn't worry about your cheap changing bag, as careful working practices will remove most dust issues anyway, like using ziplock bags, keeping the bag off the film (not hard to do), hoovering out your holders (canned air or brushes will just redistribute dust), tapping you film before loading, tapping the holder before shooting etc.

i shall do all of that, makes sense. im definitely going to build myself a mini darkroom though. a box maybe 2m by 1m x 1m with some shelves inside it too and maybe 3 sets of arm holes with sleeves.

put it on top of a table and away you go.

I see your thinking but won't it be difficult to keep light out of the armholes you aren't using? You'll need to be able to tie them off somehow...

yeah i know what you mean perhaps some kind of sliding cover or hatch would work. i think it would have the same benefits as a proper dark room, ie lots more space, not just to fit the film in its holder but also store things on shelves, have various boxes for this and that and also much less heat inside there. im thiking you could have air vents at the sides which were covered by a second cover with vents at a diff orientation. im quite into making things, so its no bother.

the attached pictures are from installations i had in my gallery last year. the pink one is a room with ten thousand nails coming in from the floor walls and ceilings. every six centimetres. i did the lot by hand. i have a kind of funny nature where the more complicated and pain in the ass something is the more i want to do it:)

there is actually a video fo me standing on a nail on the day i took it all down. went right through my shoes into my foot. very painful.
