test shots
Well, my test shots arrives today and I am none the wiser....
There is some fogging on my roll of developed E6 Rollfilm in the form of a number of parallel white lines always on one side of the frame.... Im no expert but not sure whether this indicates that perhaps the Wista 6*7 back isnt completely light tight against the back of the MPP?
I would have thought that if there was a light leak in the bellows, fogging may have been a different colour and spread over more than one side of the film?

Re: test shots
It's near impossible to tell what the problem might be without seeing the transparencies or a scan of them. So can you post an image ?

Re: test shots
That's a light leak for sure, doesn't look like the bellows though, I don't have my Wista 6x9 back with me here in Turkey to to look at & when I've had dark-slide leak at the light seal for the sheath it's not like that.
People suggest putting a torch inside a camera in a darkroom to look for light leaks, but that can miss some. I found a mysterious light leak on an MPP MicroPress for another member of this forum by firing a flash gun through the front standard with a dark-slide in the back (I wrapped the front well with a darkcloth. That showed a slight leak where the bellows attached to the camera at the rear.
If you know someone else with a 5x4 camera I'd get them to try the roll film back with a roll of B&W film. Check if there foam light seals on the roll film holder they might have perished, also is it the right sheath is it long enough.
It's quite strange fogging, I'll think further.

Could have been me taking the roll film out of the back, but I doubt it...

Re: test shots
is it on every shot and if so, how consistent is it? Is it worse on some than others, does that relate to how long the film was sitting at that point?Keith Atkinson wrote:Could have been me taking the roll film out of the back, but I doubt it...
Waiting for the developing bill - 2 hours (and it's so small now!)
