Some people do questioning if Uraniumnitrate has anything to do with photography or what that agent really is.

So here it comes. First, you are not able to manufacture any nuclear weapon out of it and that’s for sure!

Second, it has some photographic value as it’s a very vital part in one of the toner which is quite nice and gives you a rich brown to red images and the colours are very permanent.
Just in case if anyone would like to try it here is the formula.

Sollution A

Uraniumnitrate 2.5g
Water 240cc

Sollution B

Potassium ferrycyanide 2.5g
Glacial acetic acid 6cc
Water 240cc

Mix it just before use. Start with the solution B until the image is blenched and wash the prints well than place the print in the solution A until the desired colour appears. Observe that some intensification may appear so you need to do some calculating to this fact.
