Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy an Ebony 5x4 (I guess I'm not alone there?), preferably non-folding (such as 45SU

) but open to other models.
Let me know what you have.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Dave,
I guess we must be thinking along the same lines
Arca's are almost as hard to come by as Ebony's.
Once I get an Ebony, I'll part with my TK45, or my 45AII, or my 45DX....after all, there are only so many 5x4 cameras I can justify
I'm hoping an Ebony will cure me of this GAS i'm suffering from !

My Ebony (SW45) didn't cure my GAS, I just begun to pile money for 45SU!

Yes, yes, I bet you are and I can see why
Sadly I'm traveling again next week, so the itch will remain for a few days more
Many thanks for our help.

Mike

Mike, there is another 45SU listed on the auction site today.
And it went for £3,100! For those of us who bought a 45SU before the price increase this is great news. It's not often you can buy a camera new and clear a profit when selling it used....
For those dithering about getting a 45SU, look on it as an investment.

Seeing any camera as an investment will become less and less viable if the film supply starts to dry up. The worry then would be that prices will start to drop.
Personally I don't see mine as an investment, I see it as a tool to use in the pursuit of my hobby (albeit a VERY NICE tool).
If it gives you pleasure while using it, who cares if it appreciates or depreciates in value?

I was really only being semi-serious in my comments about buying a 45SU as an investment and I'm certainly not considering selling mine anytime soon. It's just a nice thought that people are prepared to pay a premium for craftsmanship.
