On my soapbox

Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

Hi All, One of my pet peeves in life is members of variuos photographic forums selling (or trying to buy) gear that neither put their location in the advert or their profile......WHY? :@

Add to that not stating the currency just the amount.

I used to reply stating I'd pay in Zimbabwean Dollars, unfortunately they aren't legal tender now

My current gripe is the 2 or 3 Ebay stores (UK) selling second hand LF (and other) equipment at "Buy It Now" prices that are way over the prices from reputable dealers, sometimes double. An example is 90mm 6.8 Angulon's for £230-£260. In some cases the equipment has been repeatedly re-listed for well over a year.

Hi Ian, The optomistic sellers may be stupid enough to keep relisting at stupid prices...However we can take heart from the fact that no one has been stupid enough to buy them :)

I bought a 90mm f4.5 Sinaron for half the price being asked for that 6.8 Angulon.

Cheers Dave
