34 minutes

Post by dave_whatever » Tue Dec 22, 2009 9:35 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Is there any reason why the times on this forum appear, by my watch at least, to be 34 minutes in front of the actual time?

At a guess, I would say that the server on which the website is hosted is not using NTP -- network time protocol -- to keep the date/time clock in sync with the real world. Hardware clocks in computers do drift a little over time, otherwise.

It is a relatively easy thing to do, if one has admin control of the server, and the firewall(s) which protect it. Otherwise, it's a nightmare...
