First Shots off the Ebony

Hey peeps, below are my fav three shots from my first box of 4x5 film - Fuji 160s. Still working the camera out really, was sure I'd cropped more of the sky out on the field shot.
Also the focus isn't quite 100% bob-on as I haven't picked up a lupe yet :lol: Colors may also be a bit off as I've had to borrow a different G5 tower, since mine has gone pop, so I'm not sure how accurate the calibration is for the monitor as I didn't redo it!
Thoughts are welcome.

Hello Craig,
I am impressed with the colours in picture number 1: is that the natural range of negative film, or did you have to push the scan around in PhotoShop?
Shot number 3 is second best of the lot - I like the structure of the picture.

Hi Craig,

Good to see you posting images already. You should be pleased with these images from your first batch, especially since you have started by using a 75mm lens. I also like the composition of 3 the best.

Cheers for the positive comments so far everyone.

Charlie that's pretty much how it came scanned on the imacon. took a little cyan,blue and green out of the midtones but that's not uncommon for fuji film I found. Saturation was set to 15 which I think is standard in flexcolor, it's been a while. some slight curves tweaks to boost contrast a little an make the bark seperate a bit more. All just small things.

Jenny I've found the 75mm quite pleasant to work with, though I could do with a lupe to check the focus critically. Will order one next week.

Shot about 20more sheets this week so will have them down the lab on thursday and post anything that's good. Some kodak 160vc neg and good old velvia.
